Darkstone is a RPG for the PSX system. Your goal as the protagonist (you choose their class, gender, etc.) is to locate seven crystals scattered throughout the land and defeat the evil Wizard Draak. This game is very much like Diablo but lacks Diablo's awesomeness. Darkstone is not a bad game though. It is enough of a Diablo clone to keep fans of this type of RPG entertained for a while at least. Darkstone just does not stand out like Diablo does and Diablo is simply better in every way (IMHO). There is a good reason to play Darkstone if you love Diablo and dungeon crawler RPGs though. Darkstone's story line is different and that is honestly what made me give it a play through. If you have beat all of your other dungeon crawler games to the point that they no longer have replay value, then this title could help you quench your thirst for looting and hack and slash game play.

This game lets you choose between four classes based on Strength, Magic, Dexterity, and Vitality with two gender characters for each class. The character has to go on a quest to find the seven crystals scattered throughout the lands in order to summon the Time Orb in order to defeat the dark wizard Draak.

Darkstone is EA's attempt at a game along the lines of Diablo II when in it's prime, and a surprisingly successful attempt. Following the standard gameplay in a game of this type, there are unique additions like voice acting, a song specially made for the game, the ability to fix and strengthen weapons (as well as fail miserably at it and destroying the weapon, but hey. That's part of the fun!) this game is great all round single player game and a must have for all PSX role players.
